How I wish there was no such thing as glass. Maybe its weird but I love orangutans. Like a love that hurts. Am I crazy? Things I love like this are my daughter, my husband, orphans, suffering people and Jesus. Please let me know if I’m crazy! Not that I will change. I like me this way. (Thanks dad for the photos!)
Marcus recently did a painting called HUNGRY PEOPLE and it is being auctioned off on eBay to raise funds for the Rescue Center in Haiti that we visited. All of the money raised will go directly to the Rescue Center. I can not think of a better way for you to give money to this awesome place and end up with something cool in return. This center saves lives and lifts spirits of many children and their parents. Imagine for a moment that your child was starving to death right in front of your eyes. It still happens in this world today. Now imagine for a moment giving one child the freedom over death with the money that God has given you. Imagine how full of joy one mother or father is to see their child be rescued by the love of a total stranger. My last blog was about a little Haitian girl that stole our hearts. Her name is Marie-Flore. I emailed Licia to ask about her story and she posted it on her blog. She had a seizure this past week and gave everyone at the rescue center quite a scare. Please pray for her. She may get to go back home to her mother soon so please pray that she stays healthy once she goes home. In some way I am attached to this beautiful little soul. God is awesome!
This man and this girl have my heart lately!
Ok allow me to tell you a couple things about the man that I love (my husband pictured above). 1) He usually doesn’t interact very much with small children or babies. 2) He absolutely hates it when anyone especially children pull on his t-shirts.
When I look at this photo my hearts melts into a tiny puddle on the floor and I am left defenseless.
My trip to Haiti has done so many things to me that have left me vulnerable and I would have it no other way.
While I was there I have felt more full of life and joy than I have in a long time. My cup is still overflowing. Haiti poured out more blessings on me than I could ever imagine. It makes me realize that if you turn your life over to God he will add many things.
So anyway Marcus picked this little girl up by his own free will and tickled her until they both giggled uncontrollably. He came to find me to show me her little giggle (and I have video). Then he sat with her and showed her his artistic flare with a crayon and a coloring book page. All the while she tugged on his shirt and looked up at his face. He did not reprimand her or set her aside. He loved her. And now my heart is dripping out of my body.
I love this little girl that I don’t know and I love my husband.
Lately I have been feeling like I am not sure where to go from here. I know that God has a plan coming up and I can’t see it. Am I not tuned in enough to hear it? I am feeling quite trapped. What if I make a wrong decision and screw everything up? Maybe I’ll just stand here and sulk. Do you think that will work? My guess is not.
Sorry for the long silence. Short update: 2 babies born, my job as Girl Scout Cookie Mom is done, applied to Nursing Program at 2 colleges, Haiti is coming sooner each day, been married for a whole year now, kitties caused marriage uproar (again), ended up in Galveston for our anniversary (that was not the plan). Pics and more to follow later. That is all for now.
Well we saw Horton Hears a Who and it was super de duper! And we also went to the Houston Zoo today. Terrific! We became members of the zoo so now we can go for a whole year for free! Yipee!!!! Umm can I also say that I love Orangutans. Like Sawyer from LOST they make my heart melt. I secretly love any animal with red hair (my husband included). Today there was a baby a momma and a daddy out eating “popsicles” which were actually frozen juice inside a paper cup. They would peel away the cup with their fingers. The baby kept putting a piece of cardboard over his head to make a little house. Too fun!! I could have literally sat there for hours but I didn’t cause my friend who is really pregnant had to stand there and watch me like I was a dumb dumb. Good thing I’m a member now I’m going to force Marcus to go back with me!! Hehe! Oh yeah Munchkin had fun too.
I’m a happy girl. Marcus is home and I finished Season Two of LOST. Claire loves Charlie again so my life is complete (my LOST life anyway). Gotta love love. Kinda pissed that Sawyer shagged that chic (Anna) though. Well now she’s dead so it doesn’t really matter. I didn’t like her anyway. And why do I like Sawyer? He’s mean but a favorite of mine. When he is actually nice to someone my heart melts. Oh what joy I have found!! Season Three here I come. Can’t wait! Oh….Munchkin went to a Girl Scout camp this weekend and she had loads of fun. The leader said she only had to have one talk with her (that’s a miracle). This week she is on spring break so I will try to keep yall posted on all the fun. I know we will see Horton Hears A Who. I have been waiting to see this. Yipee! (That is not a joke. I can’t wait to see it.) Loving life right now.
